Accommodation

The Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) does not have a University Residence with enough capacity to accommodate mobility students. Therefore, the International Relations Office (GRI) of IPCA compiles Private Accommodation offers available in Barcelos, thus creating a database so that students can choose their accommodation according to their preferences.

If students expect something different, it is important to highlight that the accommodation supply is scarce in Barcelos. Despite this constraint, we would like to provide some alternative solutions such as temporary housing, until definitive private accommodation can be found on site.

Private Accommodation

Students have the opportunity to search and select their own accommodation preferences according to their needs and availability.

All the information you need regarding the current conditions is available in every accommodation offer, including monthly fee, expenses to be considered or walking distance from the campus.

You are now responsible for contacting directly the landlord or his/her representative through the button at the bottom of each ad where it says “Contactar proprietário”.

More offers might be gradually added. Please note that accommodation supply in Barcelos is scarce, so do not waste any time. You should act accordingly as soon as possible.

It is important to highlight that once you finalise the negotiation and confirm your interest in a particular accommodation, you will immediately compromise yourself to stay there for the entire mobility period (average minimum duration of 5 months).

You will also be asked to pay in advance the first and final month on arrival.

Temporary Accommodation

Should students prefer a temporary accommodation while searching for a definitive option by their own, the International Relations Office may provide them with the Private Accommodation Offer available at that date.
