User guide for registering organisations

It is IPCA’s volunteering programme, coordinated by the Sustainable Development Unit, which aims to frame, manage, validate and certify all volunteering actions/projects undertaken by the academic community, within the institution or in external organisations.

IPCA wants to go further and promote volunteering throughout the academic community. We believe that volunteering brings added value not only to the organisations where it is carried out, but also to the volunteers themselves, who acquire values such as solidarity, tolerance, respect, resilience and acceptance, and develop a relationship of reciprocity.

To promote the education and training of the academic community in values such as solidarity, tolerance, respect, resilience and acceptance;

To complement academic education by ensuring holistic learning: academic, personal, civic and social participation;

To promote active citizenship;

Promote the development of the volunteer from a personal, interpersonal and social point of view;

Strengthen the bonds of participation and cooperation between the IPCA community and the community in general and contribute to the realisation of community projects;

Raise awareness of the importance of the individual’s contribution to community development.

Registering as a volunteer, registering as a volunteer promotion entity, creating and publicising volunteer actions/projects, registering for actions/projects and receiving a certificate of participation is done through the SASocial platform.

Any member of the academic community (students, teachers, staff, researchers, alumni).

Volunteering activities are cross-cutting to the academic community’s areas of interest, depending on IPCA’s internal projects and the opportunities offered by external organisations.

Volunteering opportunities can be found on the SASocial platform.

Send an email to voluntariado@ipca.pt to express your interest. You can also consult the guide for organisations promoting volunteering.

Yes, the volunteering activities carried out within the framework of IPCA +Valor will be accredited by a volunteering certificate issued by IPCA via the SASocial platform.

The certificate can be included in the supplementary information of the student volunteer’s diploma, as long as the total number of hours is at least 30 hours/year.
