The institutional commitment to quality is laid down in IPCA’s Statutes, which regulate the composition, operation and powers of the Council for Assessment and Quality, the body responsible for drawing up proposals for mechanisms for self-evaluation of the performance of the institution, its organisational units and its technical, scientific and teaching activities.
IPCA’s institutional quality strategy aims to involve the entire academic community and the society with which it interacts in order to guarantee the quality and continuous improvement of its processes. The basic principle is that the quality policy is implemented and developed with and for people, in line with the strategic orientation of the institution.
Quality Policy
The definition and implementation of IPCA’s Quality Policy is based on a strong political and managerial commitment to improving the quality of the services provided, promoting best practice, creating a dynamic image and a governance model capable of raising performance levels.
IPCA’s Quality Policy is defined as
- To ensure a continuous process of institutional improvement in order to achieve and maintain excellence in performance;
- To ensure that the different actors and entities involved in quality management are held accountable for quality improvement in the different areas that fulfil the institutional mission;
- Establish a structure responsible for quality management, both in the institution and in the organisational units, in order to ensure the coherence of the actions taken in the field of quality;
- Guarantee and ensure appropriate conditions for the active participation of the academic community and other interested parties in the processes of analysis, discussion, reflection and debate on the performance achieved and the prospects for future improvement;
- To ensure that information about IPCA’s quality improvement policies, structures and processes is disseminated throughout the academic community and to other interested parties; and
- To promote the regular review and updating of the SIGQa_IPCA on the basis of standards and benchmarks adopted at national and international level.
