Outdoor team building activities

It looks like the rain is about to let up, so bring some sporty/comfortable clothes and let yourself go! Curious? Come along to the green space in front of the Canteen Building between 12pm and 4pm and join in the fun!

Mindfulness session

Tired of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where it seems like you’re always on the go, but you end the day thinking you’ve done nothing? Mindfulness is about living with receptivity, curiosity and acceptance. Take the opportunity and come and learn this practice with us!

The history of 17 November

On this day in 1939, a group of students from the former Czechoslovakia fought heroically against the Nazi troops who were attacking the freedom of the country’s people. The country’s universities were closed in the early hours of 17 November and Nazi forces stormed the headquarters of the Central Federation of Czechoslovak Students. As a result, leaders were killed and hundreds of students were taken to concentration camps.

In honour of the courage shown by the Czech students in 1941 the International Students’ Council (now the International Union of Students) created International Students’ Day in London, with delegates from 26 countries.
