RUN-EU enters the next phase with a new European subsidy for another four years

The RUN-EU network of universities of applied sciences will once again receive a four-year grant from the European Commission: an Erasmus+ grant of 14.4 million euros.

IPCA is one of the 7 partners within the network of higher education institutions. There will soon be nine: new from 2024 will be Universidad de Burgos from Spain and Howest (Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen) from Belgium.
The results of the European Universities Erasmus+ Call 2023 were announced on Monday, with good news for RUN-EU (Regional University Network-European University) is one of the European alliances that received the positive news for the award of the Erasmus+ funding. This subsidy is provided for the next four years: from 2024 to 2028. After evaluation in 2027, it is possible to receive a subsidy for another two years. This means that RUN-EU – including the first cycle of three years – will have an operational framework of at least nine years.

European University Transforming the Regions
In the words of the IPCA President, Maria José Fernandes, “This news is excellent. We can continue working hard to transform our region with international perspectives and opportunities for students, teachers and IPCA workers in a virtual campus now extended to nine partners. For the IPCA, the RUN-EU is structural and structuring; in this context, we expand pedagogical innovation and research through internationalization”.
In addition to the subsidy news, RUN-EU also welcomes two new members: Universidad de Burgos from Spain and Howest (Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen) from Belgium. With them, even more learning opportunities will be created and offered in the next phase of RUN-EU, aimed at successfully meeting the challenges of the future. In addition, new educational activities are being developed in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and service.
