IPCA’s Research Centre on Accounting and Taxation assessed with Very Good by FCT

The Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) has assessed IPCA’s Research Centre for Accounting and Taxation (CICF) with Very Good

The international panel of evaluators outlined the importance of the R&D activities, as well as the quality and merit of CICF’s team. The practice applied and oriented investigation and the work developed in partnership with the region and the local community were equally recognised and encouraged in the scoop of the activities plan for the next 4 years.

CICF is an R&D unit that was created by IPCA’s School of Management in 2007, with 21 integrated members, amongst them 5 PhD students and several assisting members. Aside from IPCA, CICF integrates members from 5 other Polytechnic Institutes and the University of Aveiro. The results of this assessment strengthen the funding conditions that make possible the strategic plan for the next 4 years. There are several challenges that arise for the research in the Accounting and Taxation areas, for which this team will provide an undeniable contribution.

The acknowledgement by FCT enhances the part played by these two areas, accounting and taxation, in the School of Management’s and IPCA’s educational and scientific project. IPCA was created with educational offer in this area and today that journey and that pathway of excellency throughout the years was recognised.

IPCA’s R&D strategy is, in this way, recognised and consolidated, after the 2Ai: Applied Artificial Intelligence and the ID+: Research Institute for Design Media and Culture (this in partnership with University of Aveiro and University of Porto) have also been assessed with Very Good.

CICF, ESG and IPCA are to be congratulated!
