The River Cávado served as the theme for participants to propose and develop sustainable tourism projects and solutions for the Minho region, supported by senior researchers from IPCA and TUS. There were four Research Challenge SAPs in the areas of Design, Artificial Intelligence, Tourism, Management, Finance and Accounting, where young researchers were divided into multidisciplinary working groups to seek innovative joint solutions for the future. The results exceeded expectations, with innovative and viable projects being presented.
In this context, the RUN-EU+ Symposium was also held, featuring the presentation of 25 scientific posters selected within RUN-EU. At this event, researchers, and doctoral students supervised by RUN-EU mentors, had the opportunity to present and discuss their work. According to João Vilaça, Vice-President for Research and Innovation at IPCA, “the first RUN-EU research symposium is launched, and it is hoped to be the first of many. This networked work functions and should be shared to attract more young researchers.”
Paula Tavares, Vice-President for Internationalisation at IPCA, emphasised that the week proceeded very positively, noting that this type of challenge allows the association of learning with multicultural interaction: “We all come out of this better, not only due to the obvious networking but also with new knowledge and friendships.
