Throughout the morning, students from all study cycles, teachers, and professionals were involved in a unique event, streamed online via IPCA’s Facebook page in a digital TV format.
The broadcast started at 10:30 am in a studio set up specifically for this purpose, overlooking the IPCA Library, starting with an interview with the President of IPCA conducted by a student.
This was followed by the presentation of the new IPCA Career Service and the launch of the 4th edition of the Participatory Budget with the inauguration of a collaborative mural for sharing ideas and proposals. In parallel, the “Future Skills 50+10” workshop involved 1st-year students from the Finance and Tourism Management degrees, who mobilized to promote proposals for the mural. Throughout the morning, Hotel Management students were also able to showcase their potential with a show cooking of brigadeiros that sweetened the academic community.
The IPCA TV broadcast ended at 12:30 pm in the cafeteria, with the performance of the Academic Tuna groups and the participation of everyone involved in this TV broadcast.
In between, there were several interviews, reports, and live broadcasts, carried out by IPCA students who were reporters and camera operators, in an unprecedented pedagogical innovation experience with great participation from the academic community.
In the end, the feeling was one of accomplishment and a desire to relive this experience. “I loved being part of Student Day and you can count on me for future events,” said Ana Sá, a Business Management student at IPCA. Eva Araújo, a Tourism Activities Management student, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this experience.
Student Day continued to be celebrated throughout the day. In the afternoon, the final of the 5-a-side Football Tournament organized by the IPCA Academic Association (AAIPCA) took place at the Sporting Barcelos Academy. “Igel” was the winning team, followed by “Eim” and “Fulaninhos do Costume” in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The tournament’s top scorer was Pedro Ventura, a 2nd-year Fiscal Studies student.
At the end of the day, evening students were also challenged to share their proposals on the Participatory Budgeting wall. An additional workshop, “How to survive a dissertation,” was held specifically for master’s degree students and was facilitated by FASA (Future Advanced Skills Academy) of IPCA. The event was very well-attended.
Student Day is celebrated on March 24th, but this year IPCA anticipated the celebration to March 23rd, joining forces with the IPCA Student Association (AAIPCA) and the presentation of the Queima do Galo poster. To close out the day dedicated to students, AAIPCA presented the Queima do Galo poster at the Barcelos Municipal Hall, in the presence of IPCA Vice-President Paula Tavares and Education and Youth Councilor Mariana Carvalho. The launch party continued throughout the night in a celebratory atmosphere.
As this is a day for students, by students, several courses contributed video content to IPCA TV, including students from the Audiovisual Design undergraduate program and Digital Audiovisual, Design for Digital Media, Social Media and Mobile Applications TeSP programs.
