More than 1500 students are expected at Open IPCA.

IPCA will once again open its doors on April 26th and 27th with the organization of another edition of Open IPCA.

For this 9th edition, more than 1500 students from secondary and vocational schools in the districts of Braga, Porto, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real are expected to attend.

Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the campus, visit IPCA’s spaces and infrastructures, as well as laboratories and workshops, and learn about resources and services for a better experience.

During the two open days, participants will experience the teaching, research and academic life environment. They will get to know the IPCA from an integral perspective, including the educational offer, through various activities organized by the institution’s schools and units, such as workshops, lectures, fairs, and other dynamics.

Accompanied by their teachers, students will have the opportunity to be welcomed by IPCA’s academic groups and interact with the student community, which will not only help them with the activities but also share their experiences and answer questions about what it is like to be a student at IPCA. The visit will be conducted according to the visitors’ area of interest.

IPCA’s President, Maria José Fernandes, is pleased to see the house full again. “Open IPCA is essential to IPCA’s mission. Not only in terms of attracting new students and potential candidates but also in bringing the academy closer to society,” said the President.

Eduarda Gomes, an IPCA student, will be a guide at Open IPCA for the first time and is excited about the idea. “It will be two memorable days. I am an IPCA ambassador, I usually represent the institution at fairs and school events. But receiving students on campus, guiding them, and sharing my experiences is a gratifying experience,” said the ambassador.

The program is already known, and among the various attractions and activities scheduled, several interactive games will be held by the school of technology; design laboratory visits organized by the school of design; management simulators and quizzes with prizes under the responsibility of the school of management; showcooking and marketing fairs under the authority of the school of hotel management and tourism; and a visit to the mechanical and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) workshop and metrology dynamics promoted by the school of professional higher education.

This year, the fair brings some novelties advanced by the President of the Open IPCA Commission, Oscarina Conceição. “The big news this year is the fair in room 24, which features RUN, the International Relations Office, the Employment and Entrepreneurship Office, the Pedagogical Innovation Office, and Europe Direct, to showcase to visitors the potential they will find at IPCA.”

This will be an opportunity for candidates for higher education to get to know the best of IPCA. Open IPCA is already a reference in the public higher education panorama, and IPCA is increasingly sought after as an institution.
